My wife and I recently completed building a home with J&J Custom Homes, 19310 Stone Oak Oak Parkway, Suite 100, San Antonio, TX 78258. After being transferred by Lockheed Martin to San Antonio from New Orleans in the fall of 2000, we began looking at subdivisions and custom builders. We quickly became impressed with the quality of workmanship of J&J homes … both older homes up for resale and newly built models. We also talked to owners of J&J Homes who all reported very positive experiences with the company during build and/or during warranty work after purchase of models. J&J support clearly did not end with the closing date.

Our initial discussions with John Finch and Joe Zyskind were pleasant, informative and without pressure. We looked at areas throughout NE San Antonio where we might build the home we envisioned. After considerable research, we elected to wait for the opening of a new portion of Emerald Forest. Joe & John, assisted by John Carlson and Tim Sheehan, helped us select the perfect lot. As we worked the design with their highly-skilled architect, Gustavo Arredondo, and progressed through contract finalization, we found everyone very cooperative in trying to accommodate our thoughts with the realities of the terrain, architecture and fiscal limitations. It was an excellent experience.

Once we completed the contract and broke ground in March 2002 through completion and closing in November, we experienced regular and open dialogue with both John Finch and his on-site supervisor, Mick McKinley. We also found J&J’s subcontractor leads to be extremely well qualified, professional and conscientious. Whenever there were questions or issues, John or Mick would quickly respond and ensure resolutions.

Many of our friends relate building a new home as one of the true stresses on a marriage. My wife and I found that, thanks to the personalized attention of John Finch and the rest of the J&J organization, we completed the process still speaking to each other. We also still like and are friends with our builders, J&J Custom Homes. We would highly recommend them to anyone seeking a top quality custom home.

The design is superb and the quality is outstanding. We shopped many builders and many homes when we decided to retire in San Antonio, but we were drawn to J&J Custom Homes in Emerald Forest.
